Seabourn Pursuit

Our home away from home for this cruise is the Seabourn Pursuit.  Seabourn bills itself as an ultra-luxury cruise line with smaller ships and high-end amenities.  This is actually our very first cruise and while we weren't intentionally trying to find a luxury cruise, we timed a very good special which made it attainable.  Our ship is brand new having just launched in July and it still has that new ship smell.  I think being a new ship in the market and also Christmastime probably influenced getting a really good deal.

We've learned this is considered "expedition" cruising, and this is a purpose-built expedition ship.  It is built to operate in polar regions that have lots of ice, and it is much more rugged.  There's only about 250 total passengers so it is a little larger than river cruising but much smaller than traditional cruise ships that have thousands of passengers.

They weren't kidding when they said this is luxury cruising.  From the very attentive customer service, referring to us by name, our own suite attendant, and an amazing selection of high-end wines and spirits, we feel like the Beverly Hillbillies come to town.  We're off to an amazing start, and I hope Mona does not get too accustomed to this level of pampering.  I'm not sure I can keep that up once we get home.  Here's a few pics of the ship.

There's a heated infinity pool and hot tubs

They even have a submersible for underwater exploration
