This is our second visit to Trier. There is so much Roman history here that we don't realize when we think of Germany. I wrote about Trier in more detail
here when we visited back in 2019. For this trip, we didn't focus on the history as much, but instead soaked up more of the atmosphere and enjoyeed the Christmas market. Some highlights:
| Porta Nigra -- the old Roman Gate |
The Imperial Throne Room -- now used as a church. The entire Porta Nigra can fit inside this space |
| Trier Cathedral seen from the top floor of the Porta Nigra |
| Christmas Market in front of the Cathedral |
| The street where our hotel was located |
| At the Christmas Market |
